They should correct them like this:\n“Sisters, you socialize, behave badly, have a bad reputation, are notorious, harass the Sangha of nuns, and hide each other’s offenses.\nBe secluded, venerables. The Sangha praises seclusion for the sisters.”\nAnd they should correct them a second\nand a third time.\nIf they stop, all is well.\nIf they do not stop, they commit an offense of wrong conduct.\nIf those who hear about it do not say anything, they commit an offense of wrong conduct.\nThose nuns, even if they have to be pulled into the Sangha, should be corrected like this:\n“Sisters, you socialize, behave badly, have a bad reputation, are notorious, harass the Sangha of nuns, and hide each other’s offenses.\nBe secluded, venerables. The Sangha praises seclusion for the sisters.”\nThey should correct them a second\nand a third time.\nIf they stop, all is well.\nIf they do not stop, they commit an offense of wrong conduct.\nShould press them:\n“And, monks, they should be pressed like this.\nA competent and capable nun should inform the Sangha:\n‘Please, venerables, I ask the Sangha to listen.\nThe nuns so-and-so and so-and-so socialize, behave badly, have a bad reputation, are notorious, harass the Sangha of nuns, and hide each other’s offenses.\nAnd they keep on doing it.\nIf the Sangha is ready, it should press the nuns so-and-so and so-and-so to make them stop.\nThis is the motion.\nPlease, venerables, I ask the Sangha to listen.\nThe nuns so-and-so and so-and-so socialize, behave badly, have a bad reputation, are notorious, harass the Sangha of nuns, and hide each other’s offenses.\nAnd they keep on doing it.\nThe Sangha presses the nuns so-and-so and so-and-so to make them stop.\nAny nun who approves of pressing the nuns so-and-so and so-and-so to make them stop should remain silent.\nAny nun who doesn’t approve should speak up.\nFor the second time, I speak on this matter. …\nFor the third time, I speak on this matter. …\nThe Sangha has pressed the nuns so-and-so and so-and-so to make them stop.\nThe Sangha approves and is therefore silent.
