He should then squat on his heels, raise his joined palms, and say,\n‘Venerables, I’m sick.\nI’m unable to travel with my blanket.\nI ask the Sangha for permission to make a blanket.’\nAnd he should ask a second\nand a third time.\nA competent and capable monk should then inform the Sangha:\n‘Please, venerables, I ask the Sangha to listen.\nThe monk so-and-so is sick. He’s unable to travel with his blanket.\nHe’s asking the Sangha for permission to make a blanket.\nIf the Sangha is ready, it should give permission to monk so-and-so to make a blanket.\nThis is the motion.\nPlease, venerables, I ask the Sangha to listen.\nThe monk so-and-so is sick.
